The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is condemning the violence that led to at least one death in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend.  A statement from the Church called the conflict deeply concerning and said people should be troubled by the rise of intolerance, no matter what their religious views.  The statement quoted a former Church president who said "No man who makes disparaging remarks concerning those of another race can consider himself a true disciple of Christ."  The Church also offered prayers to those suffering due to the "intolerance and hatred" and called for everyone to treat each other with more kindness, compassion and goodness.
