About 11 o’clock Thursday morning, the alert citizen noticed a damaged road sign, then pulled over to investigate and discovered a vehicle at the bottom of the 300 ft ravine. Emergency personnel responded to the area and located one individual who was deceased. According to a statement from the Washington County Sheriff's office obtained by KDXU, the victim's dog was still on scene and was taken to an animal shelter. No word has been released about how long the wrecked car was down in the ravine. The cause of the accident remains under investigation and the victim's name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
