President Trump will nominate former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman Jr. as the U.S. ambassador to Russia.

The White House announced the President's intention to nominate the former Republican governor yesterday.  Huntsman has experience as a U.S. ambassador, serving as the ambassador to China from 2009 to 2011 under former President Obama and the ambassador to Singapore from 1992 to 1993 under Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton.  Huntsman served as the governor of Utah from 2005 to 2009.
