A HUGE Retailer Is Shutting Down 500 Stores: Utah & Nevada Affected!
Bad news for those DIY Queens... and Grandma's across the country! If you've ever found yourself spending hours wandering through aisles of yard, fabric, or crafting supplies, then suddenly leaving with way more than you needed, you might be sad too! Your favorite craft store might not be around much longer! A huge wave of store closures is about to hit and for Do-It-Yourself enthusiasts, this one is going to sting!
The culprit? Joann Fabrics. When you think of DIY or craft stores, Joann's most definitely comes to mind. They've recently revealed they'll be shutting down over 500 stores across 49 states! This is going to be leaving crafters scrambling for those last minute sewing and scrapbooking needs! This closure comes after Joann's has filed for bankruptcy for the second time in less than one year (that's not a good sign)! The company isn't calling it "downsizing", they're calling it "Right-Sizing". Call it what you want, but this just means we have fewer places to stock up on glitter, hot glue sticks, fabric, or yarn at the last minute!
Are Utah and Nevada Affected?
Joann's currently has 14 locations in Utah and 5 in Nevada. However, not all of these will survive the cuts! Here are the unlucky stores that will be closing doors soon:
Utah Stores Closing:
- Clinton: 1803 West 1800 North
- Salt Lake City: 2330 East 3000 South
- Tooele: 852 North Main Street
Nevada Stores Closing:
- Elko: 2759 Mountain City Highway
What This Means for Crafters
If your location is one that's going to be closing, you're not going to be able to stop in whenever you want. You'll either be going for a drive, or finding your stuff online at Joann.com and wait a few days with shipping!
