It seems like EVERY other day, another huge retailer is calling it quits after decades of being a staple in Utah & Nevada! Inflation is obviously a key factor, but what's the real game-changer here? The rise of ONLINE SHOPPING! We're now in 2025, where more people are skipping the in-store shopping and opting for the "add to cart" button from their beds. Over the past few years we've said goodbye to Bed Bath & Beyong, Rue 21, and Sunday Morning. Well, now another BIG retailer is joining the 'Closure' list. Big Lots.

WHICH MAJOR RETAILER IS SHUTTING DOWN 350 STORES?

Big Lots has confirmed that 350 of its 1,389 stores across the U.S. are set to close—and yes, locations in Utah and Nevada are on the chopping block. In fact, three stores in Utah alone already got the boot!

UTAH CLOSURES:

  • Layton: 1030 N. Main Street
  • Logan: 1617 N. Main Street
  • Murray: 5516 S. 900 East

NEVADA CLOSURES:

  • 1601 W Craig Rd., N Las Vegas

Founded almost 60 years ago, Big Lots started out as a closeout business for auto parts, but then quickly changed into a household name in the discount retail world! They're known for offering name-brand products at deep discounts compared to other discount stores. They've been a go-to for millions of Americans for nearly half a century.

But with these closures looming, if you’ve got a Big Lots store near you on this list, now might be the time to snag those last-minute deals before the doors shut for good!
