High-Profile Investigation: Parker Kingston's Arrest

A well-known college football player in Utah is now at the center of a criminal investigation right here in Southern Utah.

The Washington County Attorney's Office confirmed this week that charges have been filed against Parker Kingston. Kingston is a 21 year old wide receiver for the Brigham Young University Football Team.  These charges come after allegations of sexual assault from an incident reported in St. George.

Allegations Unveiled: What We Know So Far

According to officials, Kingston was arrested for investigation of first degree felony rape. He is currently being held without bail.

Prosecutors are saying the investigation began after a 20 year old woman went to the hospital on February 23, 2025, alleging she had been sexually assaulted in St. George, Utah. Detectives for the St. George Police Department collected digital and forensic evidence and conducted interviews with the people involved. Investigators have submitted this case to the Washington County Attorney's Office for review.

BYU's Response: University Takes Action

BYU has since released a statement saying that they became aware of the arrest on Wednesday and emphasized that the university takes these allegations very seriously. The school added that it would cooperate with law enforcement but would not comment further due to privacy of student laws.

Kingston, who is originally from Layton, Utah, is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

Kingston was a rising senior for BYU and one of their top offensive weapons last season, leading the team with 928 receiving yards, and five touchdowns. Before news of this broke, he previously announced plans to return to Provo for his last and final year of eligibility.
