Chapter 10 Experimenting 58

Little bits of invisible heat at the tip of my finger. Hmm.

The next time he was sitting in class and Borgin was droning on about some principle, Succubus waited until he turned to write on the wall with the chalk, then he reached his finger forward and pointed it at the back of the head of the unsuspecting student in front of him. He built up the pressure and then released a small searing blast. It made a small pop as the puff of heated air shot into the unsuspecting demon’s neck.

The student gasped in pain and grabbed the back of his head, turning to see an innocent looking Succubus.

Borgin spun around, furious at the distraction. “Why have you interrupted my class?” he demanded of the upset student.

“Someone threw a hot coal at my head,” the demon said, his eyes watering from the pain.

“Did someone hurl something at this demon’s head?’ Borgin eyed Succubus and those behind him. They all denied throwing anything. He scanned the area behind the student but could not discover any evidence.

In irritation, Borgin stood back, raised his hand and drew flame from the torch. Suddenly fire erupted and crackled in mid-air in front of him. Then with a thrust of his hand, it flew towards the head of the complaining demon who dove for the floor, as did all those behind him, including Succubus.

As the fire cleared, Borgin stood glaring down at the student with hostility in his eyes. "Interrupt my class again and I will turn your entire head into a coal."
