Alot Finance came out with a list of the ugliest cities in each state, and it turns out that there is a lot about Utah that I apparently I don't know. On top of the things I don't know is the place the report called the ugliest city in Utah, though it turns out it is more of a neighborhood.

Until I read the report, I had never heard of People's Freeway, have you? Turns out it's a real thing, or at least it was. According to Reddit user ArgyleAlpaca

The area you're speaking of is called Ballpark now. It used to be referred to as "People's Freeway," but that name was so awful that the community council literally petitioned to have it changed.

The neighborhood runs from approximately 900 South to 2100 South and is nestled between I-15 / I-80 over to State Street. According to neighborhoodscout.com, the median real estate price in People's Freeway is $466,213 which puts it more expensive than some 53% of neighborhoods in Utah. On the other hand the average rental price in People's Freeway is $1,649 and that rent is currently lower than almost 82% of Utah neighborhoods.

Now People's Freeway is better known as Ballpark neighborhood because of the location of Smith's Ballpark home of the Salt Lake Bees. With the Bees moving to a new stadium in Daybreak, a planned community in South Jordan, People's Freeway or the Ballpark neighborhood will need to decide how to make use of the land where the current stadium sits.

The Ballpark neighborhood has experienced revitalization efforts in recent years, with a focus on creating a vibrant and walkable community. It's known for its mix of residential, commercial, and cultural spaces. You can find a variety of shops, restaurants, art galleries, and entertainment venues in the area.

Additionally, the Ballpark neighborhood is situated close to major transportation routes, including the I-15 freeway, making it convenient for residents and visitors to access other parts of the city and beyond.

The drawback to that feature is the noise generated by all the traffic in the freeway in this area. At the start of the article on Alot a reviewer on Niche says “do not move here unless you want to....listen to constant helicopters, airplanes, trains and jets.”

Not sure what made Alot pick on this area to call it the Ugliest City in Utah. Like every neighborhood I'm sure there are pluses and minuses, and some people will be detractors while others will sing its praises. But I think I can say this, it's probably better to live in People's Freeway than to live on the freeway.

Actors Who Performed Scenes While Under the Influence

Plenty of actors filmed famous scenes while under the influence of some substance or another. Could you tell from their performances?
