Utah is pretty much a red state and that means that just like in 2020, former president Donald Trump may be checked on most UT ballots.

However, voting turnouts this year are expected to be much higher and according to social media rumors. Perhaps more people will turn up to vote either in person or by mail-in ballot, but we won’t know until November.

This election season has Trump(R) and former Vice President Kamala Harris(D) in the running with news stations ramping up the coverage since the Olympic games are over. Harris has chosen her running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. Trump’s running mate is U.S. Senator J.D. Vance.

Already, the two parties are at odds, dishing out and taking hits during rallies and interviews.

A Look Back at Utah’s 2020 Voter Numbers:

According to data from NBC News, 58.1% of Utah voted for Trump while 37.6% voted for current President joe Biden. The state had a 20.5 margin in the 2020 elections making it the 11th largest margin for Trump in the states.

To break down the voter demographics even further there are usually exit polls done by the state. However, Utah did not do that in 2020.

Looking further back to 2016 when Hillary Clinton (D) ran against Trump (R), the demographics show that 50% of men in Utah voted for Trump while 24% voted for Clinton.

32% of Utah women voted for Clinton while 41% voted Trump.

48% of Utah’s white population voted for Trump and only 23% voted for Clinton.

There was not enough data to gauge the African American population Utah in 2016.

Hispanics in the state were more in favor of Clinton with 62% voting for her and only 24% voting Trump.
