As temperatures inch their way up, St. George Races and the St. George Firefighter's Association have joined forces to help cool people down during this year’s Moonlight Firehose Frenzy, set for June 7 on Main Street between Tabernacle and St. George Boulevard.

It is a multi-faceted event, highlighted by a 5-kilometer race that takes runners through the streets of Historic Downtown St. George. Throughout the course, the St. George Firefighter's Association will be out with fire trucks, spraying water on runners— although there will be an option to stay dry.

“The Moonlight Firehose Frenzy is the ultimate family summer outing,” said Recreation Coordinator Sadie Bassett. “Don't miss your chance to cool down in the summer heat.”

Foam Frenzy will be at the starting line, spraying foam on the runners as well. Additionally, there will be a foam pit after the race starting at 9 p.m. Meant for fun, the race is not an officially timed event. No results will be posted.

“We encourage participants who want to know their finishing time to wear a watch at the event to time themselves,” Bassett added.

A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Utah Burn Center and the St. George Fire Fighters Association. Early registration continues through June 5
