Utah Senator Mitt Romney is taking issue with President Trump's decision to commute the prison sentence of Trump political ally Roger Stone.

Romney tweeted Saturday that Trump's decision to act demonstrated "unprecedented, historic corruption" because he was commuting the sentence of a man convicted of lying to try to protect the President.

Romney was one of the few Republicans willing to criticize Trump over the decision.

Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey called the action a mistake, saying Stone could have appealed his sentence through the courts.
