Shepherd’s 3-point play saves Panthers; Tigers, Redmen get road wins

ST. GEORGE – Taiven Shepherd scored inside and was fouled with four seconds left for Pine View. His and-1 free throw lifted the Panthers to a 53-52 home victory against Snow Canyon.

Gavin Bateman stole a Warriors inbounds pass eight seconds earlier to setup the game-winning basket.

Snow Canyon's Chance Barney floated a runner as the clock expired that just skimmed off the rim and the home team was able to celebrate the slim win.

At Desert Hills, the Thunder were stunned by Cedar 53-48. Treyton Tibbs had 26 points as the Redmen picked up their second region win.

And Hurricane solidified its spot in third place with a 49-41 road victory at Canyon View. Dallin Davis led the way with 15 points as Hurricane led throughout.
