Speeding drivers on Utah's highways need to make sure they are paying more attention to the rules of the road.

Lieutenant Nick Street of the Utah Highway Patrol says drivers have to slow down as they head through construction zones.

Troopers began stepped-up enforcement in construction zones yesterday, cracking down on drivers who don't reduce their speeds.

The initiative comes after an accident last month on I-15 in Clearfield left three construction workers hospitalized with serious injuries.

Troopers vowed to be more vigilant in construction zones, as well as an increased presence statewide.
