A new proposal at the Utah Legislature looks to curb vaping among minors.

The bill from Republican Representative Susan Pulsipher requires school districts to create policies for confiscating e-cigarettes from students, and then hand those devices over to police.

The bill also seeks to get students involved with substance-abuse prevention programs at schools as early as fourth grade.

This all comes after state health officials announced the number of vaping-related lung illness cases in Utah rose to 83.
