Southern Utah’s Knowledge Bombs Of The Week Feb 24th
Here are some of the most interesting KNOWLEDGE BOMBS from the Mikey & The Mrs Show this week!
George Washington's hair wasn't a wig. His hair was all natural . . . and it was most likely red, not white.
We won't be colonizing Venus any time soon. The surface of Venus is a hellish place, where temperatures roast well over 800 degrees Fahrenheit.
Chris Farley had a cousin named Jim Farley . . . and he's now the CEO of Ford Motor Company, and a board member of Harley-Davidson.
The guy who invented the parachute died testing it. His name was Franz Reichelt, and he was a tailor in France. He invented the first parachute in 1912, used it to jump off the Eiffel Tower, and died when it didn't quite work right.
Dr. Pepper debuted in 1885. That was one year before Coca-Cola debuted.
Pocahontas and William Shakespeare died less than one year apart. Both died in England. Shakespeare died in April of 1616, and Pocahontas died in March of 1617.
The height of Mount Everest was originally calculated in 1865 at exactly 29,000 feet. But it was published as being 29,002 feet because scientists were afraid people would assume "29,000" was just a rounded estimate.
When the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles debuted in England, they were actually called The Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. Apparently the word "ninja" was too violent for them in the 80's.
