Local government leaders are extending disaster declarations tied to a March 18th earthquake in the Salt Lake Valley.

Both the Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County councils voted yesterday to extend their emergency declarations to July 6th.

The move was made to ensure that both the local governments and home and business owners remain eligible for federal disaster funding.

Both extensions were voted on before last night's strong aftershock near Magna.
