Bill Approved to Allow Sexual Violence Victims to Carry Without a Permit
The Utah House is approving a bill that would let victims of sexual violence carry concealed weapons without a permit, if they have a protective order.
Representative Christine Watkins said the bill wouldn't change when or where a person can carry the gun.
Representative Andrew Stoddard presented a substitute bill that would have fast-tracked the permit process for victims.
Stoddard said women in domestic-violence situations need proper firearms training.
