Speed runs at the Bonneville Salt Flats are being delayed due to wet conditions.

Speed Week at Bonneville was scheduled to get underway Saturday, but rain late last week left the salt too wet for racing.

Race chairman Pat McDowell of the Southern California Timing Association says the improved weather should let the trials begin tomorrow.

More information about Speed Week is available on the group's Facebook page.

Rick Vesco of Utah's Vesco Racing says his team hopes conditions will improve enough to let them try to break their record of 503-miles-an-hour.
