Cold weather hampers try for Guinness world record
Cold weather seems to have discouraged many from taking part in an attempt to set a new Guinness world record at the Great Salt Lake.
James Wells of the Utah Department of Natural Resources announced a change of course for the record attempt after only 300 people showed up at Great Saltair Saturday.
The record of more than 19-hundred people floating in line in a body of water at the same time was set in Argentina in 2017.
A spokesperson for the Utah Department of Natural Resources said that they may try the world record attempt again next year.
Wells said that the world record would have been nice but it wasn't the real purpose of Saturday's event.
