
Dixie State University to host forum on international documentary film festival, DOCUTAH
The next installment of Dixie State University’s weekly lecture series Dixie Forum: A Window on the World, will feature a presentation on DOCUTAH, the annual international documentary film festival held on Dixie State campus and surrounding venues.
The “DOCUTAH 101” presentation is set to take place at noon on September 3 in the Dunford Auditorium, located in the Browning Resource Center on the Dixie State campus.
Admission is free, and the public is encouraged to attend.
This year, DOCUTAH will be celebrating its 10th year and this Dixie Forum will provide a summary guide to the festival.
“DOCUTAH 101” will highlight trailers of films being presented this year and announce special events taking place during the week.
In addition to showcasing DOCUTAH, this week’s forum will also host producer, Amy Burns, and director, Tim Shepard, of the documentary “Setting the Bar: A Craft Chocolate Origin Story.”
Attendees will learn about their film, which takes viewers on a journey with the top craft chocolate makers in the world as they search for rare native cacao varietals in the Peruvian Amazon.
Attendees will also learn about a special chocolate tasting event that will be presented at DOCUTAH this year.
Dixie Forum is a weekly lecture series designed to introduce the St. George and Dixie State communities to diverse ideas and personalities while widening their worldviews via a 50-minute presentation.
At the next installment of Dixie Forum, Nikolay Kandul, Ph.D. will present “Gene Drives, and CRISPR, and GMO Insects, Oh My!” at noon on September 10 in the Dunford Auditorium.
