Illegal immigrant arrested for alleged aggravated sexual abuse of a child

Fifty-six-year-old Marcos B Mendosa, a citizen of Mexico, and living in Washington County, was arrested on Nov. 5 for 4 counts of alleged aggravated sexual abuse of child while maintaining a position of trust.

According to the Probable Cause statement the victim disclosed that the assaults occurred multiple times in two separate residences in St. George with the first incident occurring around December 24, 2017.

In October, the victim’s mother came home to find Mendosa in the victim’s bedroom, however Mendosa said he was just in the room yelling at the victim.  The mother made Mendosa leave the home.  When Police questioned Mendosa about why the victim’s mother made him leave he responded that he did not know why she asked him to leave other than to “Put him in his place”.

Mendosa is currently booked into Purgatory Correctional Facility in Washington County while awaiting his trial. We will update you with more information as it becomes available.
