Haunted Hotel In Southern Utah!
Have you ever had the desire to actually STAY in a haunted hotel?! No thanks! Not for me! However, I've been around this hotel for the better part of 32 years and have refused to enter the building. This hotel is Moore's Old Pine Inn in Marysvale, Utah!
According to HauntedHouses.com, they've said the following about the spirits at Moore's Old Pine Inn: "The original inn building has a houseful of benign, friendly female spirits and two child entities, who have attached themselves to this historic structure; because of their life experiences with this building, Former owners of a commercial business like an inn or a pub, may have strong attachments to the building, and choose to stay and try to spend their afterlife there, getting along and sharing with the living who now occupy the space, or own their own business located there. Former guests of a commercial business, like an inn, also enjoy coming back to their favorite earthly place that gave them much pleasure and positive feelings while they were alive; when they were far from their home base, and missing family. As some of the original furniture or historical artifacts as well are used at the inn in various rooms, it is possible that an entity or two may have attached themselves to the special item that meant so much to them while they were alive. Before modern medicine practices and vaccines, the death toll was high from childbirth gone bad, sudden accidents or disease epidemics that swept through towns; taking the lives of people of all ages unexpectedly. Human beings who die in this way, like to continue on in their lives where they were living, not ready to give up in this world just yet."
Guests have also reported seeing "Multiple female entities sitting on the front porch talking and enjoying each other's company!"

Southern Utah: Super Easy Homemade Root Beer For Your Halloween Parties!
Halloween is JUST around the corner! If you have a party coming up, or if you just want to give your kids a fun experience, homemade root beer with dry ice is a MUST! Here is an extremely simple recipe to make your kids be in Halloween heaven this next week!
WARNING: This contains Dry Ice. Dry Ice is dangerous and should be handled by an adult with gloves. Do not let your children inhale the foam coming off the dry ice, and do not ingest the dry ice. HANDLE WITH CARE!
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- 1 gallon cold water
- 2-3 cups granulated sugar (2 cups is just about perfect, but if you like it sweeter, obviously add more sugar!)
- 3 tablespoons Zatarain's brand Root Beer Concentrate (If in-stock)
- 1-2 pounds food-grade dry ice broken into pieces (if you use a smaller amount, it will dissolve quicker, a higher amount will help with it bubbling and foaming while serving.)
HERES WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- In your spooky caldron or pitcher, add the water, sugar, and root beer extract and stir until sugar is at least mostly dissolved.
- Using gloves or tongs, carefully add the dry ice to the caldron. Use a wooden spoon to stir the mixture together. You want to be careful to not let the dry ice stick to the bottom of the caldron.
- At this point the root beer should be bubbling and the fog should be spilling over the caldron. Continue stirring for 10-15 minutes to dissolve the dry ice.
- With a ladle, scoop up root beer and serve into cups, be careful that you don't have any pieces of dry ice in the glass. YOU DO NOT WANT ANYONE SWALLOWING DRY ICE!
That's it! It's extremely simple! Try making it a few times before you add the dry ice to get the PERFECT recipe! Enjoy! Your kids should love it!

This Years MOST UTAH Halloween Costumes!
Are you like me? Are you a huge fan of the state of Utah and beam with pride? Same. Maybe you're still struggling to come up with something to dress up as for Halloween! Well, how about going with a Utah theme?
Here are this years MOST UTAH Halloween costumes!
Sunriver Resident:
This is a pretty wild costume, but VERY Utah! This would be a pretty elaborate costume. It would require dressing up as an elderly person, getting in your car, and driving the wrong way in the roundabout.
Green Jell-O:
A Utah delicacy, Green Jell-O. You can throw in the shredded carrots if you want... I don't know why that's a thing though. Gross!
Utah Queen Bee with Bee Children:
This one's cute! I know that moms are always looking for cute ideas to dress up for the whole family, and this one would be unique and fun, but A LOT of work!
Bible Characters:
It happens every year, usually with the strange EXTREMELY religious kid at school. He was always dressing up like Abraham, Moses, or David... Get a group of your buddies together, that's a fun idea!
St. George Summer:
St. George Summer is a fun idea, you're just essentially a man on fire. This idea is obviously dangerous, but spot on!
Brigham Young:
If anyone dresses up as a prophet, the obvious choice is Brigham Young. A thicker guy with a big beard, and you're in! Extra points if you have 55 wives!
#FindJosh & Marci:
#FindJosh took Southern Utah by storm earlier in the summer and everyone was searching for the gorgeous bald man at Cafe Rio that looked like Super Man. He was found and happily married, unfortunately. Marci was the woman that started the search, and she's a school teacher here in town!
Utah Mom:
The Utah Mom requires a pregnant belly, and at least 4 or 5 children tagging along with you. Extra points if the children are all under 8 years of age too!
Seagull:
One of the most "UTAH" costumes is the Seagull, the state bird of Utah. Technically, it's the California Gull, but whatever. This one is sure to scare the kids and even all the adults for that matter. This thing is straight up TERRIFYING!
Missionary:
I've seen this one a lot too... The Utah boys dressing up as missionaries! It's pretty simple for a costume too. Black slacks, white shirt, tie, throw on a name tag and you're in!
Don't Look! Utah's MOST OFFENSIVE Halloween Costumes 2023
Every year on Halloween, we'll see LOTS of different costumes, from animals, to pop culture, to even inanimate objects like a car! But one thing we ALWAYS see is the offensive costumes. Obviously, there are a TON of costumes that are big no-nos! Today, people find it offensive if you dress up as someone of another race or culture, a terrorist, a tragedy, or even something religiously. Honestly, there aren't a lot of costumes that SOMEONE couldn't find offensive. Well, if you're easily offended, turn back now!
These are UTAH'S most offensive halloween costumes in 2023!
We see it ever year... Jesus:
Every year, you're going to see it! Jesus. Whether it's a nice respectful Jesus, or an evil Jesus, you're going to see it, and Utah is no different!
Notorious Utah Serial Killer, Ted Bundy:
This is definitely on the list of "Offensive" a man who tortured and killed over 28 girls and women. It was even believed that Bundy may have killed well over 200 women! But with recent movies, and Netflix shows about Bundy, don't be surprised if you see him strutting his stuff on the dance floor this year!
"Sexy Missionary":
Again, every year you see something along the lines. Whether it's the "Slutty Nun" or the "Slutty Missionary", you're going to see it! This is one that will get some people's blood boiling on Halloween!
Dixie Rebel:
A real Dixie Rebel. A Confederate Soldier. If you've lived in St. George long enough, you remember when the University was Dixie State, and their mascot was The Rebels. They didn't even TRY to dance around it. The mascot was a confederate soldier, they had confederate flags up around the school, as well as statues of Confederate Soldiers on horses waving Confederate flags.
LDS Prophets:
Hey! If you can nail the look... I say go for it! But it's going to be tough for someone to know who you are. Unless you bare a striking resemblance to LDS Prophets, Russell M. Nelson or Brigham Young, people may not know who you really are.
Polygamous Couple:
Another one we see year in and year out here in Utah... the man with 7 wives and 25 kids! When it gets really confusing is when you can't tell if it's an older daughter or a younger wife.
