Don Willie from the St. George Chamber of Commerce explains how the SBA helped small businesses during the pandemic.

On Thursday, December 3 at 10 a.m., the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) held a press conference/ribbon cutting ceremony at the Front Entrance of the St. George Federal Building, 196 East Tabernacle Street St., George, UT to announce the establishment of a new SBA satellite office in the city that will serve businesses in Southwestern Utah. This new office will be staffed by an SBA employee that will focus on economic development outreach to rural areas of the state south of Salt Lake City.  It has been a goal of the agency to place an office in St. George for years, but permanent funding was finally secured this year with the support of the SBA administrator, Regional Administrator Dan Nordberg, Utah’s congressional offices, and local elected officials and economic development organizations.

The ceremony was attended by SBA Assistant Administrator Mike Vallante, SBA Region VIII Administrator Dan Nordberg, Utah District Director Marla Trollan, Staff from Senators Mike Lee and Mitt Romney’s offices, Congressman Chris Stewart’s office, the  St. George Chamber of Commerce and several local small business owners.
