Several Utah teens injured in a crash involving an alleged drunk driver Friday night continue to recover in a California hospital.

In all, six people were injured, five 18-year-olds (four males and one female)  and Robledo, who was alone in his vehicle.

One of the teens, 18-year-old St. George resident Christina Goana, who was critically injured with a severe brain injury and multiple fractures, remains in a medically induced coma as of Monday.

“It is a waiting game but we have gotten through the first 24 hrs which were critical,” stated the GoFundMe.

“The doctors have said to go day by day.”

According to her friends, Goana graduated from Pine View High School in May and was on a summer trip before heading off to college in South Dakota where she had received a full ride soccer scholarship.

Anaheim Police said the teens were hit by 24-year-old Leobardo Robledo of Anaheim who ran a red light.

Both vehicles struck a utility pole after the collision, causing major damage to both cars and injuring all of the occupants.

Robledo is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs and facing charges of felony driving under the influence and driving under the influence causing serious bodily injury or death.

As of Monday he was still in the hospital and had not yet been booked into jail.

All of the teens were wearing seat belts and Goana was seated in between two of the boys in the back seat.
