Theft and vandalism at archaeological site
Utah State Parks officials are asking for help to find out who is responsible for theft and vandalism at an archaeological site near Wendover.
Heritage Resource Manager Justina Parsons-Bernstein says someone broke into the Danger Cave State Park Heritage Site and stole artifacts, lighting and safety equipment.
Parks officials believe the thefts occurred between 4 p.m. on May 7th and 9 a.m. on May 11th.
The cave is considered one of the most important archaeological sites in North America by the University of Utah.
Parsons-Bernstein says investigators are hopeful that someone might give them a tip that will help catch whoever broke into the cave.
