Utah couple will avoid federal charges in connection to Gun Range Fire

A couple from Utah will avoid federal charges after allegedly sparking a wildfire in Bountiful.

Jeremy Flores and Ashlyn Nelson are instead being slapped with citations for leaving their campfire lit.

Each ticket carries a potential fine of up to 250-dollars.

The August 29th fire grew into the Gun Range Fire, which destroyed three-homes, damaged eight-others, and forced four-hundred families to evacuate.

Investigators were able to trace the fire back to the couple's campfire ring on the side of the mountain.
