Evictions in Utah are climbing, but the state's pandemic housing assistance program is offering up to two-thousand dollars per month for those struggling to pay rent due to the pandemic.

Officials say that landlords and attorneys have sought nearly 570 evictions in state courts this month, which is much higher than last month's as July saw 354 evictions.

July is also when federal eviction protections expired.

Officials urge renters who are struggling to call 2-1-1 to see what they can qualify for.
