Utah’s clean air initiative gathering signatures
Supporters of an initiative to help clean up Utah's air are now gathering signatures to get it on the 2020 ballot.
Bob Cieri was working Main Street yesterday in an attempt to get signatures for the initiative.
The initiative would impose a tax of 12-dollars a ton on items that create carbon dioxide emissions.
The carbon tax would be likely to raise the price of both gasoline and electricity across the state.
The money raised would go toward initiatives that would help enhance Utah's air quality.
Cieri is confident that the signature drive for the initiative will succeed.
