Wildlife officials put herd of bighorn sheep onto Antelope Island
State wildlife officials are again putting a herd of bighorn sheep onto Antelope Island.
About two-dozen of the animals were released onto the island yesterday.
A herd of more than 100 bighorns called the island home until the fall of 2018, when they were hit by a virus and died.
About 30 more sheep will eventually join the herd, in hopes they will breed and allow more healthy bighorns to help populate the island.
