Body found in New Castle Reservoir

The body of a 53-year-old man was recovered from Newcastle Reservoir Saturday morning.

According to officials, the body was pulled from the water by several people recreating in the area. Deputies from the Iron County Sheriff's Department identified the man as a Utah resident.

A 67-year-old man, who officials believe was with the man who died, was transported to Cedar City Hospital by ambulance where he was treated for minor injuries.

The victim's name was not immediately available. Sheriff's officials said his body was transported to the Utah State Medical Examiner's Office where his cause of death will be determined; they said alcohol is believed to be a factor.
