Woman dies in Roy house fire

A woman is dead after a house fire in Roy.

Neighbor Shalese Johnson said she and others were still hoping the unidentified woman was alive following yesterday's 5 a.m. house fire.

Crews quickly put out the fire, but had to spend several hours shoring up the home before it was safe to enter.

Once inside, they found the woman and one of her cats dead.

The woman's name is being withheld by officials and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
