Court lifts stay to finalize contract for radio emergency network
The Utah Supreme Court has lifted a stay placed on the Utah Communication Authority to finalize a 50-million-dollar contract to create a new radio emergency network.
Motorola pushed for the stay on the agency's new agreement with Harris Co., accusing UCA of bid-rigging.
A judge lifted the motion after UCA officials argued that delays to replacing their aging radio system could create a public safety risk.
Motorola's claim against UCA and Harris Co. will still proceed through court, but now work to install the new radio system can proceed.
