A jury will consider the death penalty in the murder trial of 42-year-old Jerrod Baum.

Prosecutors say Baum killed 18-year-old Riley Powell and 17-year-old Breezy Otteson in December 2017, and then dumped their bodies down an abandoned mine shaft in Juab County.

Investigators found the victims after the suspect's former girlfriend, Morgan Henderson, told them about the alleged murders and agreed to become a cooperating witness.

Baum is scheduled for a pretrial conference on August 12th, but no trial date has been set.
