Utah Division of Wildlife Resources officials are warning people to not feed wildlife deer after one was found dead with chronic wasting disease.

Officials say introducing foods to deer, elk and moose that aren't in their diets can harm wildlife.

Two dead deer in Moab tested positive for C-W-D within the last month, which is highly contagious to the animals and is comparable to Mad Cow Disease.

DWR Regional Outreach Manager, Aaron Bott, says to refrain from feeding these animals any corn, hay, dog food or birdseed to prevent the spread of the disease.
