F-35A fighter jet experiences landing problem at Hill Air Force Base

A formal safety review will be conducted after the landing gear on an F-35A fighter jet collapsed at Hill Air Force Base. 

The malfunction happened as the jet landed at the base around 10:45 a.m. yesterday. 

The plane was on a routine training flight when the landing gear collapsed. 

The pilot was able to get out of the aircraft and was evaluated by doctors, though no information about the pilot's condition was released.
