FBI task force arrests 30 Utahn’s for sexual exploitation of children

An FBI task force says 30 people have been arrested in Utah on various charges of trying to sexually exploit children.

U.S. Attorney for Utah John Huber said yesterday that the operation targeted predators who use apps to lure children into sexual situations.

Investigators from Salt Lake City, the Utah Department of Public Safety, the FBI and the U.S. Attorney's Office worked together in a joint operation last month.

Some of those arrested have also been charged with solicitation, sodomy and rape.

Salt Lake City Police Chief Mike Brown said his officers were tracking another child predator even as he was speaking during yesterday's press conference.
