State fire officials are worried that an already active year for wildfires could get worse if Utahns don't do more to help.

Kait Webb with Utah Forestry, Fire and State Lands says 77-percent of this year's wildfires have been caused by people rather than natural events.

Wildfires have burned nearly 200-thousand-acres since the beginning of the year.

State fire officials are asking Utahns to be more fire conscious until rain, cooler temperatures and increased humidity brings an end to the wildfire season.
