Governor Gary Herbert says Utah's vote-by-mail system has been good for the state and he believes it could work in other states as well.

Herbert told KSTU-TV earlier this week that Utah has seen no evidence of anyone trying to cheat or tamper with mail-in ballots on a large-scale basis and said the system promotes higher voter turnout.

President Trump has attacked the idea of expanding mail-in voting in other states, saying foreign governments would steal ballots to create fraudulent results.

Herbert also says he supports expanding ranked-choice voting in Utah, saying it could lead to more civility in election campaigns.

Meanwhile, it appears mail-in voting is the key issue holding up a new stimulus package.

President Trump said on Fox Business' Mornings With Maria that it's a scam and added that denying them the money means he can prevent universal mail-in voting this November.

Democrats want more money for the post office and states to protect ballots cast by mail during the pandemic.
