High speed police chase and foot pursuit in the Leeds area

An incident at a Cedar City hotel spurred a police chase south on I-15 into the Leeds area.

The men abandoned the vehicle they were driving at mile marker 23 and fled on foot.

A reverse 911 was issued to the residents in the Leeds area. Early reports are that several of the men have been captured but the search continues.

One of the suspects was possibly bitten by a snake while fleeing from police. Leeds residents are being told to lock their doors and remain inside.

The incident is being handled by multiple agencies including Utah Highway Patrol, Cedar City Police, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Iron County sheriff’s Office and the Utah Department of Transportation Incident Management Team.
