The Iron County Clerk's Office has released preliminary results for the June 28th primary election. Iron County Clerk Jon Whittaker indicated that this will be the only release for the evening. The clerk is expecting to release updated totals and the end of business on both Wednesday and Thursday. Based on these early numbers, incumbents are leading in their races. In the two new districts for the Iron County School Board, Tiffiney Christiansen and Stephanie Hill have the lead in these early results. So far, 7,800 votes have been tabulated accounting for a 36% voter turnout to this point. You can see the early Iron County results here. In the high profile statewide race for U.S. Senate, Mike Lee is well on the way to a primary victory with over 61% of the votes tabulated so far. In Iron County, Lee captured over 75% of the vote. In the race for the Utah 2nd District to the U.S. Congress, Chris Stewart appears to be cruising to a primary victory with over 75% of the vote. Stewart captured just over 82% of the vote in Iron County. As a reminder, these results are quite preliminary, and results will be updated regularly. Final, official results, generally take approximately two weeks.
