Fatal Car Accident Press Release:
On February 11th at approximately 2:25 AM Hurricane City Police Department was dispatched to the area of mile marker 21 on SR-59 due to a notification of a traffic crash
received from an Iphone. A few minutes later dispatch received a call stating a vehicle had gone off an approximate 200 foot cliff in this same area near the Hurricane overlook.
Officers responded along with Hurricane Valley Fire and Rescue to the bottom of the cliff where the vehicle was actively on fire. Unfortunately due to the distance of the vehicle from access points and the intensity of the fire, Officers and Firefighters were not able to help any possible passengers in the vehicle at that time. The fire was able to be put out by Hurricane Valley Fire and Rescue.
At this time Detectives and members of our accident reconstruction team are on scene and the accident is still under investigation. The vehicle was recovered but because of the damage we can only confirm that it is an SUV and one occupant was found deceased but has not been positively identified at this time. Additional information will be released at a later time.

Our hearts are with all of those that are effected.
Car accidents in Southern Utah are on the rise. There are more people moving here and therefore, more cars on the road. But that doesn't completely account for the number of 1 car incidents happening. Please don't drive drowsy or impaired. You are taking your life and the lives of those that may be around you into your hands every time you drive. Please be safe.
DJ Tischner-
I've been living in St. George my whole life. I know all of the shortcuts in town, and I know how to get places quicker than ANY of my friends. But after 32 years here in St. George, there are still some roads that are SO FRUSTRATING to be driving on! After all this time, we STILL don't have all the shortcuts that we need in town.
Here are the TOP 3 ROADS that we need here in St. George that will make our lives EASIER!
FLOOD STREET TO 400 EAST UNDER I-15:
This is my #1 shortcut that I would love to see here in St. George! I-15 has separated St. George for SO LONG! If I'm by Fiesta Fun, and I want to get on the other side of the freeway, it will take AT LEAST 10-15 minutes before I can get there. But the city could EASILY connect Flood Street and 400 East. The roads even match up on both sides. This one should be a no-brainer!
DIXIE CONVENTION CENTER TO SUMMIT ATHLETIC CLUB:
This road is actually CONFIRMED and happening! Macrae Heppler posted a video earlier today showing that this road is ABSOLUTELY going to happen, but it's going to be about 2 years until it's finally completed. It will take you from the Dixie Convention Center and pop out by Popeyes off River Road. This road is going to be AWESOME... But it will definitely be crossing through the Virgin River, so people might be upset about that.
FROM RIVERSIDE DRIVE TO MALL DRIVE BY DINO CROSSING:
If you ever take Riverside Drive around Foremaster, headed towards Dino Crossing... You've probably hit ALL that traffic on Riverside. You'll be backed up FOREVER if you're not careful, but wouldn't it be awesome if you could avoid that and shoot straight over to the Lin's on Mall Drive?! That's my idea with this one. It would alleviate traffic there, and make it a ton quicker to get into the Washington Fields!
Easy recipes make me happy and make my dinner table look good. This recipe is one of the BEST!
I love potatoes done up pretty much every way and these twice baked potatoes will make you look like you took some extra time to make something fancy.
Twice baked potatoes will dress up any meal and are perfect for parties. Plus with some easy swaps you can make them a bit more healthy without anyone even knowing. Super bowl is this weekend and this is a must have recipe.
Twice baked potatoes are the potato version of deviled eggs. You bake some potatoes, let them cool, cut them in half lengthwise and scoop out the insides. I use russet potatoes because they are sturdy and hold up nicely.
Twice Baked Potato Recipe
Ingredients:
5 baked potatoes
2 tablespoons of real butter
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 cup of sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
1/2 cup of cream (or milk)
4-6 strips of bacon cooked and chopped (or Turkey bacon)
1 cup of any cheese. I use Colby-jack and sharp cheddar
Real* Salt and pepper to taste
Top with scallions or green onion
Instructions:
Scrub, wrap in aluminum foil and bake potatoes on 375 degrees for 1 hour, Leave in oven until cool. ( This allows the potato to retain a lot of it's moisture.)
While potatoes are cooling you can mix the rest of the ingredients together in a bowl, reserving some cheese and green onions to garnish with.
When potatoes are cool enough to handle, cut them lengthwise and scoop out the middle of the skins leaving enough on the side to keep the shape of the potato.
Put the scooped out potato in with the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
Then re-fill each potato skin with the delicious mix and top with cheese and onions.
You can always use more bacon on top as well. I also like to mix it up and top with a little buffalo sauce or jalapenos. You can top with just about anything you like.
Put back into a 350 degree oven for about 15 mins or until the cheese is brown and bubbly. Enjoy!
What's Aaronee cooking? Buffalo Chicken Crack Dip! Every year my Whole Southern Utah family scours the internet and family recipes for some of the best dip recipes out there.
I love everything from the simple ranch and onion dips to fancier parmesan crusted spinach & artichoke dips.
But there is one MUST HAVE dip that we don't go a Super Bowl without. Some Sort of Buffalo Chicken Dip must be at our party. This particular recipe is a 10/10. Most of these ingredients are in many recipes, but the flavor combos going on in here will make your taste buds really, REALLY happy.
Buffalo Chicken Crack Dip
Serving size? Who the heck knows. I have to triple this recipe for our family gathering and we have 5 different dips!
Ingredients:
2 chicken breasts cooked and shredded
1 8oz block of cream cheese
1 8oz bag of shredded cheddar cheese
1 8oz package of shredded Monterey Jack cheese
4oz of sour cream
1/2 stick of butter
1/2 package of ranch dressing mix
1 4oz can of green chilies, drained
3 cloves of minced garlic
1/3 cup of Franks Red Hot (less for mild or more for spicy)
1/4 cup of Chives on top
Instructions:
Reserve chives and a portion of the shredded cheeses to top off the dish. Add all other ingredients to a pan on low/med heat on your cooktop and mix well.
After the butter is melted, the garlic is fragrant and all ingredients are thoroughly mixed, transfer to an oven safe dish. If you are using a cast iron skillet, all the better and you don't need to transfer anything.
Top with the reserved shredded cheese and put in a 350 degree oven and cook for 20 mins.
When cheese is bubbly and browning on the sides, add the chives and turn the oven to low broil and leave the dish cooking for another 5-10 mins.
When there is a nice browned layer of cheese on the top of the pan, pull it out of the oven and leave to cool for 10-15 mins before serving, or you will have molten lava in your mouth. ( I seem to test this EVERY TIME.)
Serve with tortilla chips, carrot sticks olives, celery sticks and bread.
