🌡️ Salt Lake City Accidentally Turned Into a Convection Oven

Salt Lake City didn’t just break its heat record, it *rode right past it* like a Pioneer Day rodeo cowboy whose hand got stuck on the bull and accidentally clocked 12 seconds. Or like a float queen whose mascara was sliding off in sheets while she waved through the pain. As the airport recorded 109° degrees the city basically transformed into a convection oven with public transit.

Sidewalks were shimmering, birds were filing formal complaints, and half the Wasatch Front finally understood what “Southern Utah heat” actually means when you feel your soul leaving your body like steam off a Dutch oven.

🔥 Meanwhile, Southern Utah Is Watching With Popcorn

In a rare moment of empathy (and mild superiority), we thought it might be helpful to brainstorm a few things St. George could do to support Salt Lake City.

  • Sandbag the state line so Southern Utah can catch Salt Lake as it slides downward and floods our red‑rock neighborhoods.
  • Send them a “that’s not cool” card, preferably one that smells slightly like burning paper.
  • Ship up some red rocks so they can decorate properly and feel emotionally supported by geology.
  • Ask if them if they are so determined to trade places maybe send us some winter temperatures, or even a little inversion. If it blocks the sun, we’ll take it.

☀️ Utah, We’re All In This Together (Unfortunately)

Record heat is becoming a statewide sport, and this week proved that even the north can compete with the desert. Stay shady, and if Salt Lake keeps this up, Southern Utah may start charging royalties for the “Utah heat” brand.
