Fun, Sun, and Music in the Park in Cedar City

The Iron County Music Associations Music in the Park, one of Cedar City’s newest music festivals, kicked off its fifth year Saturday afternoon. Living up to Cedar City's nickname as "Festival City".  

Main Street Park was filled with bounce houses, vendors, food trucks, and music lovers ready for a day of music and fun in the park. 

I was able to be there for the start of the festivities. The stage being closer to the side of the park facing Lins, made it possible for people to sit closer to the stage and create a sense of intimacy. There was also much more shade from the trees which made the afternoon much more comfortable. 

Music for the day included a drum circle and dancing, Dick Earl’s Electric Witness, Coyote Bluegrass, Stone Company, and much more.  

The Iron County Music Association or ICAMA is a non-profit funded by small in-person contributions and grants. ICAMA and its concerts are put together under the watchful eyes and music-loving ears of Jim and Jeanine Howells, Groovacious’s Lisa Cretsinger, Nancy Graf, and others.  

ICAMA puts together monthly indoor concerts October-April at the Community Presbyterian Church at 2279 North Wedgewood. The music ranges from pop to jazz, folk to country, and bluegrass and newgrass.
