Businessman Jeff Burningham has filed a lawsuit against the state elections office after he failed to qualify for the Republican Primary ballot in the Utah governor's race.

Burningham contends emergency orders for the coronavirus pandemic prevented him from submitting the necessary signatures to qualify for a spot.

He is asking a federal judge to instruct the state to either lower the qualifying threshold of signatures to give him a chance to get onto the ballot, or to put him on the ballot automatically.
