Spencer Cox could be first candidate to qualify for primary ballot
Lieutenant Governor Spencer Cox could potentially be the first candidate to qualify for the primary ballot in the Utah governor's race.
Cox's campaign submitted more than 29-thousand signatures this morning to state election officials.
The move could put Cox at an advantage, since a voter's signature will only be counted on the first petition it's validated on, even if that person signs petitions for multiple candidates.
