Judge issues restraining order on Vaping rule
A Utah judge has issued a temporary restraining order against the state's emergency rules banning the sale of flavored vaping products in certain businesses.
Judge Keith Kelly announced yesterday that the Utah Department of Health didn't follow proper state guidelines for implementing such rules.
The regulations blocked non-specialty tobacco shops from selling the products.
Vape retailers challenged UDOH's decision, arguing that health officials have not connected nearly one-hundred cases of a vaping-related illness in the state to those products specifically.
Most of the illness cases are connected to unregulated THC cartridges.
Utah Vapor Business Association President Juan Bravo was happy the restraining order was granted yesterday.
