Four People Injured in Duck Creek Cabin Explosion

Four people were flown to the hospital after a cabin explosion in Kane County Saturday night. According Cedar Mountain Fire Protection Fire Chief Casey Tuttle, a couple in their 20s and their one-year old infant were staying at a rental cabin in the Falcon’s Nest in Duck Creek Village. Tuttle said all four walls and the roof were totally blown off the structure and three other cabins around them caught fire. The four injured people are expected to make a full recovery.

Governor Cautiously Optimistic About Medicaid Waivers

Governor Gary Herbert says he's cautiously optimistic that the Trump administration will approve waivers needed to expand Medicaid coverage in Utah.  Herbert was attending the Politico State Solutions Conference Friday when he was asked who in the federal government had encouraged the state to apply for waivers.  The governor said that he's talked about it with Vice President Mike Pence while others in the state government have been working with the department of health.

Arrest Made in Washington City Credit Union Robbery

A man has been arrested in the robbery of the credit union in Washington City last week. 45 year old Michael Roper of St. George has been taken into custody as a suspect in the Thursday afternoon robbery of the Chartway Federal Credit Union in Washington. Roper was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held in the Purgatory Correctional Facility.

Teacher Facing Charges For Sending Nude Selfies

A teacher of autistic children in Pleasant Grove is facing charges after being accused of texting nude selfies to one of her students.  Authorities say thirty-eight-year-old Brooke Armijo of Draper sent nude photos of herself and an explicit video to a 17-year-old student in early January.  Spectrum Academy confirms that Armijo is no longer an employee of the school.

Man Wanted For Murder in Nevada Arrested in Southern Utah

A man wanted for murder in Nevada was arrested in Utah. Beaver County Sheriff’s Office said it had been working with the FBI and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to find Lee Frank Wilson who is suspected of murder in Clark County, Nevada. Officials said deputies and SWAT from Beaver County took him into custody without incident Friday.
