Lawmaker wants hunting and fishing to be a constitutional right
A lawmaker is seeking an amendment that would make hunting, fishing and harvesting wildlife a constitutional right for Utahns.
State Representative Casey Snider has introduced House Joint Resolution 15, which says that the right to hunt and fish should be established as an individual right and preserved for the public good forever.
Hunting and fishing would still be subject to rules and limits set by the state.
If it passes the legislature, the resolution would go to voters for approval later this year.
