Legislation that will allow bicyclists roll through stop signs and red lights is getting the green light to the Utah Senate.

House lawmakers voted in favor of HB 161 from Democratic State Representative Carol Spackman Moss, 53-to-20.

Under the proposal, cyclists would need to slow down and yield to make sure there would be no oncoming traffic at the intersection.

However, they would not be required to come to a full stop.
