Man convicted of tax evasion
A West Valley City man who claimed he was exempt from paying Utah income taxes will be in prison between one-to-15 years.
A judge sentenced 62-year-old Dennis Iverson yesterday after he was convicted on 13 counts of tax evasion.
Iverson said that declared himself as a sovereign nation, and was therefore exempt from paying 25-thousand dollars in back taxes he owes.
A jury convicted him after three minutes of deliberations.
